Bamboo floors quickly become one of the most sought-after floors, thanks to the beauty it gives to the whole house. As all other materials used on floors, bamboo flooring must be carefully maintained if they are to enjoy the aesthetics for a long time. With the following guidelines you will get the most out of your bamboo floor.
Cleaning your natural bamboo floor
Bamboo floors, like their wooden counterparts, are too much water and moisture averse. This should be taken into account when cleaning such a floor. For daily cleaning, use either a flat microfiber wiper or a dry dust wiper. If you need to use a vacuum cleaner, you need to keep the attachment soft at the bottom so that the bottom is not scratched. Note that these techniques have omitted the use of water. If food or liquids have been spilled, clean the floor with a slightly moistened soft cloth that must not be pressed onto the floor surface. Bamboo flooring should not be cleaned with polishes, waxes, oil soaps or solvent cleaners despite dirt. There are floor cleaners specially designed for bamboo floors that you can buy.
Do not expose bamboo soil to direct sunlight
Direct sun rays counteract the quality of your bamboo floor. Prolonged exposure to these rays will fade the natural colour of the bamboo, undermining the overall attractiveness. You should therefore ensure that the rays are kept away by curtains and blinds.
Minimization of humidity in the room
Humidity is another element of the weather that, if not activated, can really damage your bamboo floor. If there is too much moisture, the individual bamboo planks expand, leading to cracks. On the other hand, the low humidity causes the boards to shrink, which means that the floor becomes uneven.
What not to do on the bamboo floor?
Some of the worst enemies for your bamboo floor are scratches and furrows. For this purpose, you should refrain from walking with sharp heels on the floor. When you move objects across the floor, try to lift them off the ground instead of pushing them (if you need to push them, use a cart with large, smooth wheels).
Recommendations before and after installing your Bamboo Floor:
A site evaluation should be done prior to delivery of the bamboo floors. Please check the following:
The site must be completely closed including doors and windows.
The place should be moisture free.
All concrete, masonry, plastering, plastering and wet work among others must be completed and well dry.
All textures and paint layers must be completed.
Make sure the soil is not exposed to extreme moisture conditions.
The iron or plate on which the bamboo floor is to be installed must be as level as possible. This will be determined by the installer.
The ambient temperature must be at least 180C before and during installation.

Keep the floor clean and use soft cushioning fabric, a dry or semi-wet cloth, vacuum cleaner, to gently clean the floor every day.
Avoid watering volumes of water or other liquids. Dry spilled liquids and immediately clean the floor if that happens.
Keep the place as dry as possible.
Make sure that the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system is working properly, with normal humidity levels. Relative indoor humidity should be between 40 and 50% throughout the year. In humid climates, carefully monitor doors, windows, and walls so there are no water leaks.
Keep windows open for ventilation in summer time and often also to adjust the indoor temperature
Place a piece of plush or mat at the entrance of the place where the bamboo floor is installed to avoid dust and sand. At the same time, the plush should be kept clean.
Never work on the bamboo floor surface with nails or enter with shoes with metal nails or pointed heel.
Use special wax or varnish for wood floors according to the condition of service from time to time.
Before placing furniture on the bamboo floor, use pad guard on the bottom of all the furniture legs.
Apply a special floor wax to the area where it has been a little scratched.
Do not allow heavy and sharp things to be put directly on the bamboo floor.
Do not use cleaning products containing ammonia, acids or spray; as they can damage the finish of the floor and can leave it slippery or sticky.
Do not clean the floor with washing machines.
Avoid pets, as pets may scratch or scratch the floor.
The bamboo flooring should be kept free of dust and dirt. Regularly sweeping with a soft brush will ensure that dust does not do you any damage.
